BANGALORE: Global Tele-Systems Limited has changed its name to ‘GTL Limited’,
"to better reflect the Company’s global initiative to become a dominant
player in its existing IT and Engineering Services", according to a
company's official statement.
Last year, Global Tele-Systems Limited and Global Electronic Commerce
Services Limited (GECS) merged. Post merger and the acquisition of Thermax
Systems & Software Limited; and Fine InfoTech Limited, the Company is
consolidating its corporate brand across the spectrum of services it now offers.
The first step for this is the change of name.
"The brand name GTL is strongly established in the corporate and
institutional marketplace and many of our clients world-wide use GTL. We believe
this is a great leap forward. We are re-enforcing and consolidating our
corporate brand," says Fritz D’Silva, MD & COO, GTL Limited.
Over the recent past, the Company has transformed itself as an IT Services
company and aligned the entire organization to service this market worldwide.
The company’s plans in corporate branding for the international market has
been affected due to the confusion caused by the existence of another company in
the US, with the name Global Tele-Systems Inc. which operates globally. The
change in name reflects the company’s increasing thrust in the international
markets. The new name GTL Limited will, thus, enable the company to undertake
global corporate branding.
GTL Limited’s thrust on international operations, which spans the US, UK,
Germany, Middle East, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand, constitutes 37 per
cent of its revenues. The management of the company believes that in the next
three years, approximately 60 per cent of its revenues will come from the
international markets.
GTL Limited provides e-business solutions for corporates worldwide in the
areas of Enterprise Network Services, Software and Application Services and
Network Engineering.
Out of the total issued and paid-up capital of the company, around 98.25 per
cent shares are held in demat form. For the shares held in physical form the
company will be dispatching replacement stickers in due course of time.
