In his address, Murthy said, “It is now becoming almost mandatory for students to have international exposure and experience working in other countries. Universities such as Stanford have made it a mandatory pre-requisite as part of the admission procedure for some courses for students to have global work experience. All this will create intelligent global managers.”

InStep has also enabled the recruitment of over ten interns for full time positions in the company in 2006-`07. In his take on the value of the InStep experience, Josh Bornstein, alumnus of Claremont McKenna College, said, “While applying for full time jobs, my internship experience in India differentiated my resume from other candidates. Infosys gave me an unmatched opportunity to grow and gain expertise in an international business climate. Acquiring experience with a company like Infosys has helped me to adapt to the changing global environment and has given me an edge over my peers. This has held me in good stead in my career at Footprint Ventures, an early-stage venture capital fund in India.”

The internship program ranges from eight-24 weeks and gives students hands-on experience across various divisions within the company such as marketing, education and research, software engineering and technology labs and corporate planning.
