GIV Mobile announces partnership with DonorsChoose.org

CHICAGO, USA: GIV Mobile announces its partnership with DonorsChoose.org, a unique online charity that makes it easy for anyone to help teachers and students receive specific tools and supplies they need in the classroom.

Public school teachers can post classroom project requests on DonorsChoose.org's website where individuals can donate money to the project that inspires them the most. Once the project receives its funding goals, the materials are shipped to the classroom and those who donated will receive photos of the project and thank you notes from students.

GIV Mobile is the first consumer-conscious wireless service that is dedicated to donating eight percent of a customer's monthly bill to up to three charities of his or her choice. Now, when GIV Mobile subscribers select DonorsChoose.org, eight percent of their bill will help teachers and students receive the materials they need.

To date, 171,000 public and charter school teachers have used DonorsChoose.org to secure $217 million in books, art supplies, technology, and other resources that their students need to learn.

GIV Mobile is helping raise awareness for Mrs. Emerson's project at Webster High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her students attend an urban, high-poverty high school and are requesting a variety of books dealing with preparation for college and life.

Emerson explains: "For children coming from homes where college was never even on the table as a possibility, to navigate their way successfully through the murky waters of college testing, selection, admissions, and funding requires timely, accurate, and accessible information. These materials will provide my students with that information and help them take the first step towards their future."
