GANDHINAGAR: Internet Service Provider Gujarat Info Petro Ltd. (GIPL) will
set up Internet Data Centers and a Satellite Internet Gateway in Gujarat. GIPL
will be the second venture after Icenet Ltd. to set up its own gateway from
here.
The ISP, having its operations in Gujarat's four major centers -- Gandhinagar,
Ahmedabad, Baroda and Surat -- will be guided by PriceWaterhouseCoopers to
enter, expand and diversify its bandwidth.
"We have envisaged Rs 10 crore initial investment in the IDC while the
gate will cost around Rs 6 crore," said GIPL spokesperson Sandip Shah.
Shah added that the IDC would create a physical environment to keep the
servers running round the clock offering wide range of physical security
features, smoke detection and fire suppression systems, motion sensors, video
camera surveillance and security breach alarms. According to GIPL, the bandwidth
is 45 MBPS through the gateway it plans to raise.
