Gigabyte India unveils aggressive strategy for 2009

MUMBAI, INDIA:  Gigabyte India announced an aggressive business strategy for 2009. Targeting a 50 percent growth in overall business revenue, the company plans to surpass the one million mark in motherboard sales.

In 2008, Gigabyte registered 60 percent growth over previous year sales, taking the sales figure to 7,800 thousand, both in unit sales and revenues terms.

“Over the last four quarters, Gigabyte has consistently outpaced market growth rates across product segments that we operate in,” said Rajan Sharma, GM—Motherboard Business Unit, Gigabyte India, “We will keep up this aggressive momentum in 2009 as well and will predominantly focus on driving growth through channel consolidation, enhanced post sales and RMA services, channel development initiatives and strong focus on delivering reseller partner RoI,” he added.

In an effort to increase end-user awareness and higher brand sensitivity amongst buying public for Gigabyte motherboards, Gigabyte plans to rollout DIY programs and numerous focused-segment education initiatives, throughout the year.

Focused on delivering strong channel partner RoI, the company has drawn up a number of channel friendly initiatives and programs through 2009. Keen to expand its presence in non-metro locations, the company also plans to recruit qualified reseller partners into its Gigabyte Channel Partner Program.

Gigabyte plans to increase the number of RMA locations from 88 to 100 and is committed to reducing response times on its support services. In order to ensure personalized focus to each area the company has made some organizational restructuring to place different regions and departments under the supervision of specialized personnel.

Anant Chaturvedi will now be handling distribution and high-end motherboards; Devneesh Khurana will look after Gigabyte India’s western and southern operations and; Sunil Grewal head the operations in the North and East.

“Our performance last year has given an immense boost to our confidence and we are determined to better it this year. Through focused sales and marketing efforts we plan to plough in additional resources and increase our market share across all our product segments,” said P Vyas, MD, Gigabyte India.
