Geometric Software bags US patent

MUMBAI: Geometric Software Solutions today announced a significant achievement by becoming one of the few Indian software companies to be awarded a US patent (6,597,355 B1) for `Hole Recognition` algorithms developed as part of its flagship technology, feature recognition (FR).



FR is an innovative technology for the automatic detection of features while exchanging 3D design geometry. It improves productivity, slashes product development cycle time and helps reduce time-to-market.



FR technology is licensed to Dassault Systèmes and integrated with CATIA V5 and DELMIA V5 Prismatic Machining Preparation Assistant and the Part Design Features Recognition products. This technology is at the core of other leading solutions in the market such as SolidWorks, FeatureWorks, CAMWorks from Teksoft and Solid Edge. FR technology from Geometric is being adopted in leading computer aided manufacturing (CAM) solutions and has been successfully integrated into specialised software in the machine tool, CMM and process planning industry.
