Geojit BNP Paribas launches FLIP

MUMBAI, INDIA: Geojit BNP Paribas Financial Services, a retail financial services company, launched here on Tuesday its Financial Investment Platform (FLIP) – the online investment platform.

Ravi Narain, the CEO and managing director of National Stock Exchange (NSE), launched FLIP at a function here. The new platform is a complete enhanced online investment solution which includes full-fledged Order Management System with built-in multi-level security risk management and real-time streaming market data.

It integrates with the Risk Management System to offer a complete array of financial instruments such as equities, derivatives (stock and currency), margin funding, mutual fund units and IPOs for a smooth and rich investment experience.

Geojit Technologies Private Ltd, a Geojit BNP Paribas subsidiary, has developed the online investment platform. While speaking to CyberMedia News, Geojit Technologies’ managing director A Balakrishnan said that the development work of the platform started back in 2006 and was ready in two years' time.

He said that first the platform was deployed and installed in Saudi Arabia and Muscat for local financial markets in 2008. It took over 16000 man hours to customized the solution as per Indian financial market.

In terms of features and modules, FLIP can work as a standalone application as well as it can be accessed on the Internet in form of a website. It offers an advanced configurable workspace, multi-market view in a single screen, simultaneous tracking of 9 scrips by Market By Price/Charts in a single screen.

FLIP comes in three modules – Platinum the application installed on client machines, Gold the web version, FLIP Lite, which the very light variant of Gold and FLIP Mobile Edition (FLIP Me) the mobile version of FLIP for real time Market Watch, Quotes, Market-by-Price, etc.

Also, six sectors can be monitored in a single window with customizable fields and cross exchange market by price. It provide investors with timely information, technical analysis and research reports, fast market broadcast along with smooth and secure online fund transfer via multiple bank payment gateways in addition to RTGS / NEFT.

Moreover, it has enhanced market data systems, FIX engine and robust risk management functionalities for full Order Routing cum Risk Management system. FLIP supports its users with a dedicated call center, 24x7 customer care portal, real time market information on mobile phones, facility to place offline market orders that help in taking informed investment decisions.
