Gentlemen prefer Androids, women tempted by Apple

BARCELONA, SPAIN: The findings of a new mobile device survey by Clean Master among 1,000 U.S. reveals that the top five mobile device brands Americans rank as their favourite include Apple (39 percent), followed by Samsung (29 percent), LG (10 percent), HTC (4 percent), and Nokia (3 percent). The #1 choice of brand varied when it came to demographics such as gender, geographic location, and age:

The mobile device brands that received the least favor by America include BlackBerry (2 percent), Microsoft (1 percent), and Sony Ericsson (less than 1 percent).

In addition to determining the nation's most popular mobile device brands, the smartphone performance boosting app maker Clean Master polled U.S. electronic users about the frequency of which they first experience any issues with their personal technology.

Of the 59 percent of Americans who own a smartphone, 1 in 10 said they experience performance problems like their system running slowly or crashing within the first three months of owning their new device. 2 in 10 indicated it takes between 6-12 months for problems to appear while 10 percent said it would take two years to experience any.

Interestingly, when it comes to gender, women (13 percent) are more likely than men (9 percent) to experience problems with their new phone in the first year of having it.
