Soon, Interpol will get a peek at border and visa management solutions

SINGAPORE: At Interpol World 2015, Gemalto, a provider of digital security will showcase its next-generation border and v​isa management​ solutions.

With a massive surge in the number of travelers worldwide, the government and law enforcement agencies are facing significant challenges. Cross-border crimes are on the rise, while passengers are demanding speed and convenience at checkpoints. A coordinated approach that integrates best-practice immigration processes with the state-of-the-art technologies, is therefore needed to improve global security and prevent identity fraud.

The solutions include, The Coesys Border Management (CBM), The Coesys Automated Border Control (CABC), Electronic Travel Documents (ETD) and Coesys Visa Management (CVM).

CBM integrates high-availability service platforms, secure software, and on-site services that enables immigration authorities to process inbound and outbound passengers. It also allows them to coordinate their tasks with local and international agencies and manage all documents and procedures from a central post.

CABC or eGates, is a secure two-stage verification system that validates the authenticity of the ePassport via facial and biometrics stored in the database.

ETD is the ICAO compliant Sealys ePassports embedded with an integrated microprocessor containing traveler's information such as picture, data, and fingerprint.

CVM is designed to securely manage visa applications, issuance, and resident permits. These applications are used at embassies, consulates, and other locations such as visa-on-arrival.
