This sender/receiver system allows the remote control of computers from any workstation using a Gigabit Ethernet switch. Users can access computer data using a keyboard, video monitor and mouse (KVM) from any location on the Local Area Network (LAN).

Digital, high resolution video in the DVI format, four USB peripherals, analog stereo audio and RS-232 control signals are transported over the LAN with optional extension up to 100 meters (330 ft.) on both sender and receiver sides using a single CAT-5 cable. One local DVI output on the sender unit is provided for video monitoring.

This extension system uses a method of visually loss less compression, and boasts latency of less than two frames. Another compelling feature is that the DVI KVM over IP solution can be combined with additional sender and receiver units on the same LAN. When each sender and receiver is configured to a unique IP address, up to 256 sender and 256 receiver units can be routed through the same LAN, creating a scalable, virtual cross-point matrix with no additional wiring.

The DVI KVM over IP can also be integrated on the same LAN with Gefen's HDMI and VGA KVM over IP extenders. These integrated systems support both analog and digital video in a virtual matrix that sends data to any workstation regardless of the video format. Resolutions are supported up to 1920x1200 at 60 FPS.
