"Hearing Bill Gates talk about the fundamentals of application development, while sharing his views on how the future of computing will evolve, is a dream for any developer," said Infosys Technologies Limited, Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Managing Director, S Gopalakrishnan.

"Hosting his first address to the Indian developer community was an exceptional experience and an honor for all Infoscions." Infosys played host for the event, while Nasscom played the co-host.

Nasscom, President, Kiran Karnik, said, "India has undoubtedly been able to carve a name for itself in the area of IT Services globally and the Indian developer community has been the key ingredient in making the country the IT power it is today. However going forward, we have to upgrade their skills rather than focusing only on numbers. Indian developers on their part need to work more on high-end product and technology services such as Web services, Bioinformatics and semiconductor design."

"The world realizes the potential of the Indian IT professional, with many of them spearheading strategic technological projects in global IT companies such as Microsoft. Mr Bill Gates' third visit to India further testifies to this and shows that it doesn't look at India, merely as a market but also as a strategic base to spur technological innovation for Microsoft globally," he added.
