GATE 2021: Application begins at IIT-B, Important details you should know

GATE 2021 Result Declared on GOAPS website at 10 PM on March 19

The IIT Bombay is the organising institute of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, GATE 2021. It has begun the online application process through the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). Applicants can submit their online application through the official website of GATE 2021.

Here are some important guidelines before you fill the GATE 2021 form.

1. You can take the GATE even if you are a third or higher year UG degree program student. Also, if you have completed any government-approved degree program in engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, and arts, you can take the exam.

2. At GOAPS, you need to fill only one application form even if you are appearing for two papers.

3. You need to keep your documents in the following order. A good quality photograph of 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm. Your face should cover 60 to 70% of the photograph. The photograph must be recent with white background, and the candidate’s face must be clear without, mask, sunglasses, shadow effect, and so on. The maximum filesize for a photo can be 480×640 in pixels and the minimum pixel resolution 240×320 and between 5 kB and 200 kB.

You will need a digital signature. It should be clear, in black or dark blue ink.

4. For Examination Centres in India, the regular fees for Female candidates and SC/ST/PwD candidate is ₹ 750. The extended period fee is ₹ 1250. For all other candidates, the fee is ₹ 1500 for regular registration and late registration is ₹2000. Suppose you want to take two papers, you pay twice the fee.

5. GATE 2021 scores are valid for three years. There is no age limit to appear for the examinations.

6. The exam will be conducted through a computer-based test (CBT) mode.

7. The last date to submit the online applications for the GATE 2021 is September 30. Candidates can apply online up to October 7, with a late fee. The last date to change the category, paper, and examination city with an additional fee is November 13.

8. GATE 2021 admit card will be released on January 8, 2021, and the exam will commence on February 5. Bombay will announce the GATE 2021 results through the online portal on March 22, 2021.
