GATE 2021: Only 9 days to go; see how you fair with the Mock Tests

IIT Bombay had released the mock test for GATE 2021 in late-2020. But now that only 9 days are left till the first exam of the GATE paper, every candidate must know where they stand. Especially when the pandemic effects loom on us, students should get familiar with the CBT model with the SOPs in place.

Further, this year, for the first time, candidates have the option of appearing for more than one subject (based on the permitted combinations). Also, IIT Bombay has introduced two new subjects - Environment Science & Engineering as well as Humanities and Social Sciences. So, students can take as many mock tests as they want to. Just remember to have a computer with a good internet connection, preferably broadband so that they could practise the test without any connectivity issues.

How to apply for the GATE 2021 mock tests?

• Go to the GATE Official Website and click on the Gate Mock Test Links

• Click on mock test link of the subject candidate is appearing for

• A log-in panel will open, click on the “Sign-in” tab

• Upon logging in, the candidate can take the test

• The test will have a timer that will indicate the time left for the GATE mock test to end

How will these mock tests help?

1. Will feel like a pre-exam

All of us have pre-exam jitters. Maybe we lack confidence or just don't know what to expect. But mock help you understand how the actual exam will feel like.

2. Helps revise

Though the Mock Tests on the GATE website are not syllabus revision but assisting the students to understand the CBT Mode, it will really help you see how much you know or how much you fair in the preparation.

3. Familiarity with Virtual Calculator

No one uses a virtual calculator regularly. So, if you attend the mock tests for GATE 2021, you will become familiar with the tool. This, in turn, will save a lot of time during the main exam.

4. Understand the question framework

The mock tests will help you understand how the paper and the questions are framed. It helps to understand what the paper demands from you. Thus, students must take the GATE Mock Test.
