NEW DELHI, INDIA: Delhi-based Sarvoday Ashram, which makes handspun and handwoven fabrics that support environment, inclusive growth and sustainable development, has taken its Ekmatra brand online.

Founded in 1952, Sarvoday Ashram has followed the the Gandhian philosophy of simplicity, and Ekmatra is and earthy and traditional line of clothing spun and handwoven by almost 3000 spinners, weavers and other craftspeople.

For its online endeavour, the ashram has chosen eShopbox to handle its end-to-end online operations and increase market reach.

“Digital e-commerce is a strategic growth vehicle for Sarvoday Ashram. Through the fast growing online channels, we will be able to reach out to more customers as well as educate people on the benefits of handspun and handwoven fabrics,” said Parth Chaturvedi, Sarvoday Ashram.

“Our focus would be to increase the visibility of Ekmatra across the online channels, increase the awareness of the benefits of the fabrics by using our marketing insights and create a platform for Ekmatra to scale up their growth,” added Ankush Karwa, Co-Founder, eShopbox.
