It is currently working with new customers to help them through the initial setup. It will help the franchisees to take the standard operating procedures they receive directly from the brand owners and turn them into Delightree workflows. They’re still working out their exact pricing model, but say that they charge on a per-location-per-month basis, with pricing varying depending on the size/complexity of the business. They’ve set up a waitlist for anyone interested.

The duo earlier founded CEM software company Survaider. Here, they worked with over 3,000 franchise stores. This experience of starting up led them to found Delightree. Further, the team has also been working on a feature they call Delightcomply. It helps stores to stay up to date on the latest CDC guidelines for businesses operating through the pandemic. Moreover, they can automatically share compliance details with potential customers.

A business could use Delightcomply to publicly outline the steps it’s taking to keep employees or customers safe. For example, the listing automatically updated to show the status of each task.

Delightree helps companies to move much of what currently happens through pen-and-paper checklists over to smartphones. It will allow franchise owners to know what’s going at their locations from afar. They digitize workflows like the daily store opening or closing procedures or maintenance routines, with employees checking boxes on their devices rather than a paper to-do list. If something misses along the way, Delightree can automatically ping the owner to let them know before it becomes an issue.

They’ll also help to automate and track things like onboarding new employees and staying prepared for inspections. Thus, giving owners a centralized place to make team-wide announcements or contact employees.

The startup has franchise clients of Subway, Pedros, Burger King, and Halal Guys across the US. It is now targeting more than 750,000 franchises.

"We were surprised to learn how most franchises still either run on pen and paper or old desktop-based software. Delightree is helping owners turn their stores into future-ready smart stores, where the majority of processes and workflows are automated.”

Dinesh Katiyar, a Partner at Accel, said:

“Delightree is focusing on an industry segment—franchise businesses—that have traditionally struggled to find technology solutions that are right-sized for them. It takes care of the tedious part of managing a franchisee location and enables frontline employees to be on top of their tasks with ease. We need a solution like Delightree, especially now, when COVID-19 has led to a higher compliance burden on such businesses.”
