JAPAN: Fujitsu has released 3 models of MB95690 series that features a DC brushless motor controller and two analogue voltage comparators, targeting motor control applications. This is the current addition to its 8FX family and an updated version of the 95390H series. These three models are pin-to-pin compatible with the 95390H series.
This series integrates 2 analogue voltage comparators along with the support for DC brushless motor control function. Apart from that, it is compatible with various composite timers and communication functions.
Because of these features it can be used as main microcontroller, as well as sub-microcontroller to supplement function insufficiency in existing system configuration.
The chip does not need addition of external oscillator or reset IC as it is equipped with the analogue voltage comparator, CR oscillation circuit, voltage detection circuit as well as monitor timer circuit. This results in reduced system cost.
The MB95690 series employs 8 levels of power saving modes to balance MCU performance and power consumption. Application of deep standby mode enables power cut-off to the FLASH unit to further reduce power consumption.
The product has a high precision CR oscillation circuit that can be used as the clock source of microcontroller system. This will ensure reduction in external component count required in customer's development. The 1-wire on-chip debug module embedded in the chip allows occupation of only one pin when the customer debugs the program.
The sample has been available from late March 2012 and will start shipping in May 2012 and is priced at Rs.78.53 ($1.50) each.
