Meant for deployments such as private cloud, high-performance computing (HPC) and large-scale virtualization, the server requires only half the space of a standard rack server due its new ā€˜4in2Uā€™ design.

The compact Primergy CX400 S1 can pack four independent physical servers and up to 24 storage drives into a standard 2U height compact cabinet. It joins Fujitsu's Cloud eXtension family alongside the full-size, 38-node Primergy CX1000 cloud server platform.

Mehul Doshi, country manager, servers, Fujitsu India, said: The market for such servers is huge in India since demand for private cloud is growing in a big way now. Moreover, India's high performance computing (HPC) market is worth 300 million euros."

The new Nvidia Tesla GPUs-equipped servers that come with Intel's Xeon E5-2600 and 2400 series processors are compatible with industry standard rack infrastructure and applications.

The Primergy family consists of three interchangeable - low, medium, and high-end - server nodes - Primergy CX210 S1, CX250 S1, and CX270 S1 models - in its new half-width tray design.

Primergy CX400 S1 enclosure, Primergy CX270 S1 and CX250 S1 standard 1U server node are available now. Primergy CX210 S1, the entry-level server node, will be available from August 2012.
