Fujitsu is all set to roll out zero-client computers in the Indian market in May. Based on the virtual computing, the company will focus on medium and large organizations for this product.

Fujitsu's Zero Client model combines the advantages and user experience of a desktop PC with the cost and efficiency benefits of a terminal-based solution.

According to the company sources, the product is designed as an intelligent display and will be available in 19 and 22 inches.

The Zero Client workstation comes with a single cable for power supply and LAN. It works without OS and processor, and does not require local data backup. This makes the TCO significantly lower than other thin clients. The company is eying to penetrate into government agencies, financial institutions, insurance companies and BPOs with its new Zero Client range.

As more companies are turning to the cloud model of computing, Fujitsu’s innovative offering for entire virtual clients may unleash new competition in the market arena. The company operates through 40 select partners and 200 resellers in the country.

"We are a 100 percent channel focused company, and will take this product though the existing partners," said Jayanthi Sethuraman, Head–Marketing and Alliance, Fujitsu India. "Fujitsu is a growing company with newer products and therefore we would increase our distribution base in tandem," added Sethuraman
