Fujitsu addresses small business storage needs

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Fujitsu, recently announced that it has introduced enhancements to its entry-level ETERNUS disk storage range, including management software, a new ETERNUS DX90 model featuring storage-based replication capabilities, and the availability of space- and energy-saving base units for use with 2.5-inch drives.

As part of Fujitsu’s Dynamic Infrastructures, where IT is a flexible resource that adapts to varying demands, the new ETERNUS SF Express management software simplifies operation and maintenance across the full range of Fujitsu ETERNUS DX entry-level disk storage systems.

The software is targeted especially at small and medium-sized businesses, which often do not have a dedicated IT support specialist on staff, but still need to ensure that their data is properly protected, said a press release.

A new ETERNUS DX90 model, also introduced today, adds storage-based data replication capabilities to Fujitsu’s entry-level disk storage system line-up. Replicating data asynchronously or synchronousl, ETERNUS DX90 systems with the ETERNUS SF Express management software and Remote Copy license provide a complete solution enabling small and medium-sized businesses to manage storage-based replication with one homogenous and affordable solution from one source.

It is ideal for companies considering disaster recovery or business continuity measures.

“These innovative enhancements to the ETERNUS DX product family strengthen our leading position in storage with more powerful management tools for small and medium-sized businesses,”said Helmut Beck, vice-president Storage Business at Fujitsu Technology Solutions.

He further added that The solution enables their customers to better cope with disaster recovery and business continuity issues, plus a lowered Total Cost of Ownership through the use of smaller, denser disk drives.
