NEW DELHI, INDIA: Fujifilm India Pvt. Ltd., the wholly owned subsidiary of Fujifilm Corporation, Japan, today announced the launch and availability of the new digital camera model, Fujifilm FinePix S200EXR. The new camera combines 14.3x zoom lens with 12 mega pixel Super CCD EXR sensor, said a press release.

According to Kenichi Tanaka, managing director, Fujifilm India, “Compact, lightweight bridge cameras offering long zoom and high image quality have proved a big hit with those looking for an alternative to bulky interchangeable lens systems. Users of the FinePix S200EXR will find their results equal or superior to DSLRs, principally due to revolutionary design of the EXR sensor.”

A. Rajkumar, country general manager (DSC), Fujifilm India, said the EXR sensor was built to match the optical qualities of the 14.3x lens.

“The EXR sensor is essentially a switchable sensor; changing its complex electronic behaviour to suit the subject, changing its characteristics as the photographer demands, and producing the very best picture without making compromises,” he added.

Fujifilm said the user can ‘flex’ the behaviour of the sensor according to the scene to be photographed.

When the light is strong and even, the camera can be switched to HR (High Resolution) mode to ensure every small detail is captured. When light is strong but contrast, the sensor can switch to DR (Dynamic Range) mode to get the optimal balance between highlight and shadows. In low light it will switch to SN (High Sensitivity and Low Noise) mode, said the release.

The camera can automatically detect six different types of scenes - Portrait, Landscape, Macro, Backlit Portrait, Night, and Night Portrait.

FinePix S200EXR is priced at Rs.32,999, said Fujifilm.
