Fujifilm re-imagines success with X-Pro 1 cam

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Fujifilm is all set to raise the curtain of a new era by introducing interchangeable lenses. The pioneer in the digital imaging field today unveiled Fujifilm X-Pro 1, the first digital mirror-less interchangeable lens camera.

Fujifilm India Pvt. Ltd, the wholly owned subsidiary of Fujifilm Holding Corporation Japan, has also launched three newly designed fixed 'X mount' lens.

These fast, prime lenses, equivalent to a 27, 53 and 90 lens in a full sensor D-SLR camera, available as an additional feature along with X-Pro 1. These interchangeable lenses have 18 millimetre f2, 35 millimetre f1.4 and 60 millimetre f2.4. The X-mount featured on the X-Pro 1 has a thin profile and quick shutter time lag, said a press release.

Fujifilm X-Pro 1 is Fujifilm's response to the unprecedented success of FinePix X100 and they re-imagined the digital camera, this time, with mirror-less interchangeable lenses.

X-Pro 1 body includes a 16 megapixel APS-CMOS image sensor with Fujifilm's EXR processing technology. While X-Pro sensor gives a clearer image with the 6x6 color array as compared to standard 2x2 array.

It allows the users to instantly switch between an electronic and an optical viewfinder thanks to X-Pro 1's Hybrid multi-viewfinder, said the press release.  

''The huge response we received from users of X-100 leads us to develop X-Pro 1 with some added features. With X-Pro 1 we are entering into the digital mirror-less camera market, which has shown a rapid growth due to their portability in term of size and weight. It will definitely be a hit in the digital camera market like its predecessor X-100 and repeat the success,'' said Kenichi Tanka, managing director, Fujifilm India.
