The partnership with Stripe will enable freelancers and microbusinesses in the United States to set up online payments for their invoices, enabling their clients to pay them more easily and quickly without having to set up a specific merchant account to handle the transaction.

FreeAgent's existing users will be able to benefit from this new tool. They will be able to collect online invoice payments from their customers, who can pay directly from their bank accounts without incurring expensive service charges for making payments. Stripe will charge a processing fee of $0.30 and 2.9 percent of the invoice total.

The Stripe integration will form a key component of FreeAgent's growing payment portal, which provides payment options to its US and UK customers in partnership with other innovative online payment providers.

Ed Molyneux, CEO and co-founder of FreeAgent, commented on the new partnership and tool: "We're thrilled to be working with Stripe. They're a really innovative company and pioneers in the online payment space, so they're the perfect partner for us as we continue to develop our FreeAgent America product to make it the most intuitive cloud accounting system for freelancers and small businesses "

He added: "We know that one of the toughest things for small businesses and freelancers is chasing payment from their customers. And when you're waiting for checks to come in the mail or facing the hassle of credit card fees, this can be a big distraction from actually running and growing your business."

John Collison, co-founder and president of Stripe, shares his views: "FreeAgent is making it dead simple to manage your books online. Integrating with Stripe, the easiest way to accept payments, takes all the hassle out of invoicing. It's a great combination."
