With the exception of influential people, the common man finds it difficult to file PILs or to even visit the CBI office to lodge their grievances.

So, the question is how to report corruption or irregularities by public servants to the CBI? In an attempt to answer this question, the CBI has come up with an online portal through which you can not only lodge complaints against corruption but can also report cyber crimes.

Your identity will be kept confidential once you report a particular incident. In addition to this, the CBI online portal enables you to report economic crimes, bank and security frauds along with giving you the option of reporting directly to Interpol India.

The portal also contains various useful information such as telephone numbers for reporting crimes such as illegal human trafficking and the contact numbers of various CBI officers to whom you can report conmen masquerading as CBI officers and even fraudulent CBI e-mails.

One aspect to remember is that the investigating agency does not take up cases of conventional crimes such as robbery, theft, murder etc unless directed by the Supreme Court Of India or referred to by state governments.

You can lodge your complaints at CBI official website. You can contact CBI office to fight corruption via telephone, CBI phone number - 011-24361273/2755/2357 or send mail on CBI mail ID - sphq@cbi,gov.in. CBI also listed contact details of different zones here - http://cbi.gov.in/network.php.
