HYDERABAD: Fraser Techno Circuits Ltd, a Bangalore-based solution provider, offering surge protectors, racking machines and other power-related IT solutions, is setting up a manufacturing unit in Bangalore for the production of high-end power strips and other related devices with an investment of Rs 25 lakh.

The company has tied up with two UK-based firms-IDC Plugs Ltd and Burland Solutions to market its entire range of products in the country. With Burland, Fraser has entered into a 50:50 JV to manufacture Burland's products in India. While the production would be undertaken in India, Burland will support with design, technical expertise and manufacturing practices.

The facility would be ready by the end of February and the company plans to export the products to the Middle East and Southeast Asian markets by mid 2005. The company's revenue from exports last year was around 15 percent and in the next fiscal, it foresees a surge in exports anticipating exports to contribute around 25 percent of the total revenue.

"To begin with we would start production of Burland Box, a power socket solution that allows quicker and easier reconfiguration and reduces the amount of cable, whether above or below the floor. With fewer connections and considerably less cabling, the net effect is much lower installation costs, besides reducing costs for modification of workstation clusters," said Fraser Techno Circuits director, Narendra Damani.

Apart from this development on the individual product front, the company's flagship product-laptop travel accessory kit also has some additional frills in the offing. "We intend to add quality speakers to the travel accessory kit to laptops. Also a water purifier is essential for any mobile executive and most of these purifiers don't comply in size so as to get adjusted in the accessory kit. So bridging this gap we are also attempting to provide a water purifier that would be specially designed and gets into the kit with ease," informed Damani.

"And if all goes well, we are contemplating to come out with solar-powered battery adapters that would be added to the kit. We are working on the pricing strategy to make it available at a lower cost," he added.
