CHENNAI: Chennai-based Animation and Special Effects company FrameFlow India today denied reports of Sony Corporation of America picking up 51 per cent stake in the company.
Talking to CyberMedia News over phone, Krishnakant Mishra, creative director of FrameFlow India said that the reports were mere rumors.
“The report that Sony Corporation is picking-up a stake is mere rumor and we are trying to establish the authenticity of the report,” he said.
The report assumes added significance in the wake of FrameFlow’s production team leader quitting the company recently, to join the American movie producer Barrie M Osborne, whose productions include the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
FrameFlow India is the Indian arm of the Atlanta-based FrameFlow LLC, which front-ends the Indian business in the US. FrameFlow India has a modern production studio in Chennai and a staff of 70 visual effects artists.
The company has worked for Sony Pictures in the past, once on the Columbia Pictures's (part of Sony group) comedy, Click, starred by Adam Sandler.
According to sources, the company has now orders on hand worth $2 million, executable over the next three months. The company is working on projects for six Hollywood movies at present.
