Due to the COVID strain, JEE Main 20211 has various changes. The most important change is the availability of 4 attempts that might help aspirants to get admission into various institutes. According to NTA, students can attempt any number of attempts including all four to improve their score. Thus, they will have the best chance of admission into the institutes.
Moreover, candidates can apply for one or even more sessions in a single form. If they miss one attempt which they have applied for, they will have to apply for a refund. In an unlikely event, they can also carry forward their attempt for the next session in the same year, as per rules.
But these cannot apply for JEE Main 2021 four attempts
In the latest notice from NTA, only BE and BTech attempters can apply for four attempts. The other two papers BArch and BPlanning will continue to happen in two attempts as usual. Both paper 2A and paper 2B will happen in February and May sessions. On the other hand, engineering aspirants or BTech admissions the exam will be held on February 23 to 26, March 15 to 18, April 27 to 30, and May 24 to 28.
Paper-wise details of JEE Main 2021 are as follows, as per NTA FAQ:
i. B.E./B.Tech. (Paper 1)- To be conducted in all four sessions where each Subject will have two sections. Section A will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Section B will contain Questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value. Further, in Section B, candidates have to attempt any five questions out of 10. There will be no negative marking for Section B.
ii. B. Arch. (Paper 2A)- To be conducted in February and May sessions. Only Part -1 will have two sections. Section A will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Section B will contain Questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value. Further, in Section B, candidates have to attempt any five questions out of 10. There will be no negative marking for Section B.
iii. B. Planning(Paper 2B)- To be conducted in February and May sessions. Only Part -1 will have two sections. Section A will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Section B will contain Questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value. Further, in Section B, candidates have to attempt any five questions out of 10. There will be no negative marking for Section B.
