Fortrend signs pact with Sitronix n touch IC

TAIPEI: Fortrend Touch Panel Division, located in Taiwan, has announced that it has signed a pact with Sitronix Technology to share technologies and purchases of touch IC.

Fortrend indicated that it will sign agreements on cooperation with two more suppliers of touch IC, and also intends to sell touch panels for US $1 per inch.

According to Fortrend Touch Panel Division, cooperation with suppliers of IC will enable the company to obtain IC supply in the future amidst the rising demand for touch panels.

At present, Fortrend Touch Panel Division mainly makes small-size products. The company says it expects the cooperation with IC suppliers will help it enter the medium-size to large-size markets.

Fortrend Touch Panel Division said it plans to apply for listing on the main board of the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) by the end of 2010.
