AV-Comparatives staff tested Fortinet's anti-phishing capabilities along with 15 other endpoint security solutions from multiple countries for phishing URL detection and false positives.

The awards presented included ADVANCED +, ADVANCED, STANDARD and no award. STANDARD winners are considered to be good products that achieved a "good" score, ADVANCED winners received a "very good" score and ADVANCED+ winners received an "excellent" score.

Products that did not receive an award may still require further improvement to reach the tested goal. An overview of past awards can be found on the company's website. For the July 2013 test, malware sets were frozen on July 21, 2012 and consisted of 187 samples.

Fortinet's anti-phishing technology is part of the suite of security services developed and maintained by the company's global FortiGuard Labs research team, which delivers industry-leading advanced malware threat protection for a wide range of Fortinet products, including FortiGate, FortiWeb, FortiMail, FortiCarrier, FortiCache and FortiClient products. The technology is also found at the heart of Fortinet's FortiOS 5.
