FormFactor buys MicroProbe for $100 mn cash

San Jose, USA: Wafer probe card maker FormFactor has acquired SOC wafer test solution, MicroProbe for $100 million in cash and $16.8 million in stock. The terms of the deal are subject to customary adjustments.

California based MicroProbe has an employee headcount of about 360 employees worldwide and the company has generated $87.3 million in revenue in its fiscal year ended December 31, 2011. With this acquisition, FormFactor would capture the advanced SOC probe card market.

The merger is is expected to close in the first half of FormFactor's fiscal quarter ending December 29, 2012.
