Former Wipro exec is Ingersoll Rand's new VP

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Ingersoll Rand has appointed Sudarshan S. Ananth as vice-president and business head — Climate Solutions, India Region, said a press release.

In his current role, Sudarshan will be responsible for Trane and Thermo King businesses that form part of the Climate Solutions sector at Ingersoll Rand.

Trane and Thermo King are Ingersoll Rand's strategic brands and world leaders in Heating, Ventilating, Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) industries that serve commercial, transport and marine markets.

 Sudarshan will be responsible for bringing in strategic vision, to grow these businesses profitably and help sustain the company’s leadership position in the India territory and SAARC markets.

As part of this role, Sudarshan will also oversee Ingersoll Rand's new upcoming manufacturing plant in Chennai. The new facility is part of the company's overall growth strategy to drive technology innovation and product development to serve local customers, said the press release.

Commenting on the appointment Venkatesh Valluri, chairman and president, Ingersoll Rand India said, ''Sudarshan is joining us at a crucial juncture when Ingersoll Rand is sharpening its business focus and actively strengthening its presence in the country. We have aggressive growth plans for our Climate Solutions business and we are confident that with his vast expertise Sudarshan will be able to drive the strategic direction and grow the business.''

Sudarshan has joined Ingersoll Rand from Wipro Limited, where he last held the position of vice president and business head for their EcoEnergy business. Prior to that, he has held a variety of leadership roles in operations, sales and technical support in Indian and multi-national corporations.

 Sudarshan holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Jamshedpur. He is an active member at several international and national industry forums on Green Building, Renewable Energy and Energy efficiency and was member of the National Task Force constituted on Green Public Procurement.
