Think of food, clothes or cab, you have all these at your disposal with just a push of a button on a mobile app. This is a medical app—Lybrate—developed by a former Facebook employee, which is revolutionizing how we consult doctors. Although there are apps like Practo that give access to a list of health practitioners who you can visit or call home, Lybrate lets you discuss your health issues with doctors from all over India, while sipping tea in your drawing room, or just relaxing in your bedroom.

“Shortage of healthcare experts is the core problem of Indian healthcare delivery system. By using technology, Lybrate is multiplying the presence of doctors and enabling people to talk to healthcare experts from anywhere, anytime. We envision making healthcare accessible to the billion plus people of India,” Arora, CEO & Founder, Lybrate says.

Lybrate connects its users to more than 100,000 doctors and health experts from varied branches of medicine from across India and has been downloaded over three million times on a variety of devices.

All you need to do is ask a question to a doctor on the app and get a response within 24hrs, free of cost. You can also have a one-on-one consultation with a doctor on the app through text, video and voice chat. You can also book a slot for your lab tests through the app and share the report with your doctor on the app itself. If you want to visit a doctor, you can also book an appointment at their clinic at your preferred time. The consultation fee varies from Rs. 50 to Rs. 5000 depending on the doctor you choose and your health issue. Average consultation fee on the app is between Rs. 200 to Rs. 350.

Lybrate has also launched its service on Facebook Messenger's bot platform and it is Indian Medical Association's digital partner.
