Drone, the flying robot is gaining massive popularity across the world.

Primarily used as a delivery system by Amazon, Drones are very effective for taking photos with a high artistic appeal.

Though Drones with cameras have a massive amount of uses in different industries, such as video production, search and rescue, agriculture and more, it is highly popular for its photography skills.

Aiming to create a distinction between the military and commercial drone use, Dronestagram, is invigorating the creativity of commercial drone owners by giving them a place to upload the breathtaking aerial photographs.

Recently, Dronestagram has announced the winners of its International Drone Photography Contest 2016, which received participation from 28 countries and 5900 entries. Out of all the pictures sent, National Geographic picked up three best photographs.

We are going to share those beautiful photographs captured by the top three winners from three categories — Nature Wildlife, Sports Adventure, and Travel.

3. This image was taken above the Piton de la Fournaise volcano on Réunion island. Clicked by Jonathan Payet, this photograph won the third position in the Nature-Wildlife category.

4. This shot clicked by Szabolcs Ignacz of a herd of sheeps won the second place in the category of Nature-Wildlife.

5. It'll take a minute to analyze this image, and when you do, it will blow your mind. Clicked by Max Seigal at Moab, Utah, this photograph won the first place in the Sports Adventure category.

6. This image, clicked by Juan Pablo Bayona, of swimmers competing competition in Cúcuta, Colombia, won the second prize in the Sport Adventure category.

7. This image won the first prize in the Travel category. It was taken by Francesco Cattuto in Assisi, Italy.

8. This beautiful shot of a person skiing in the snowy mountains of Alaska, was shot by Tj Balon, which has won the third place in the Sports Adventure category

9. Captured at the Cable Beach in Australia by Todd Kennedy, this image won the second position in travel category.
