BANGALORE: Force Computers has unveiled its first New AdvancedTCA Pentium 4 processor board. AdvancedTCA-also known as ATCA or PICMG 3.x-is a new and open standard telecommunications computing architecture that has been defined by PICMG to meet carrier-grade requirements of current and future communication applications.

AdvancedTCA is the logical progression from PICMG 2.16 systems which is targeted at developers with high-performance requirements in the arena of telecommunications. A larger form-factor ATCA blade allows systems to dissipate more heat-and thereby provides significantly higher performance for those who need it.

With these ATCA prototypes, Force differentiates itself not only by promoting the technology but also by demonstrating working ATCA products-confirming its advanced leadership position in the market. The architecture has been done, to the extent that Force's Ultra Availability(tm) software concept is supported with no visible impact to the customer. This helps existing customers migrate easily to the new ATCA system.

"The New AdvancedTCA Pentium 4 processor board has been designed out of Force’s India design center in Bangalore", said Jithendran T. K, Director — Engineering, Force Computers, India. The entire process involved close interaction with the component suppliers, the standards organisation as well as designers from other Force facilities. "The speed, commitment and co-ordination by the team members has resulted in Force being among the First companies to demonstrate this board", added Jithendran.
