BANGALORE: Force Computers, a Solectron company and a leader in embedded computing has announced its CPCI-745 CompactPCI (CPCI) single board computer (SBC) configured for the Intel Pentium M processor running at 1.60GHz–with a high MIPS-per-watt capability and feature- and pin-compatibility to its predecessor SBC, the CPCI-740. In addition, it offers the Intel E7501 chipset–the highest performance technology of its kind currently available–enabling 4.3GBytes/second total system bandwidth.

“Targeted at advanced telecom and control-plane applications, the CPCI-745 provides robust server class performance within a reliable single-slot power envelope,” said T.S.Ushasri, Managing Director, Force Computers, India. “As a Force design implementing the powerful Intel Pentium M processor and the high-bandwidth E7501 chipset, it offers a potent foundation for the needs of the telecom infrastructure and serves the requirements of telecom equipment makers with cutting-edge functionality such as dual GigE as well as compliance to PICMG 2.0, 2.1, 2.9 and 2.16. Overall, it’s ideal for single-slot compute-intensive services. This design is carried out at the India design center of Force Computers.”

“Force’s CPCI-745 was designed to address the complex requirements that next-generation communications applications demand,” said Ton Steenman, general manager of the Embedded Intel Architecture Division. “By using the Intel Pentium M processor in this design, Force satisfies its customers’ needs for high performance while maintaining low-power output, which is ideal for thermally constrained communications applications.”
