NEW DELHI, INDIA: Fluke Networks announced today the MetroScope-LT, its latest carrier Ethernet analyzer that provides the functionality of high-end test equipment to field technicians of all skill levels.  With carrier Ethernet deployments growing by 30% each year, the MetroScope-LT analyzer and its ProVision test suite offers service providers a test solution that can be deployed affordably to a larger number of field technicians.

“As the availability and use of carrier Ethernet lines continue to rise, it has become necessary for service providers to effectively yet economically test and troubleshoot in order to promote widespread adoption,” said Mark Mullins, carrier Ethernet marketing manager at Fluke Networks.  “To meet this rising demand, we designed the MetroScope-LT to test and troubleshoot nearly all carrier Ethernet service requests without the need for extensive and costly training or tools.”

The MetroScope-LT provides the functions needed to test the vast majority of carrier Ethernet service requests, using a simplified the user interface for technicians who may be just beginning to work with Carrier Ethernet.  MetroScope-LT is the only low-cost device on the market to offer Web remote control so field technicians can engage with engineers remotely for assistance.

The MetroScope-LT, like the MetroScope carrier Ethernet analyzer, uses Fluke Networks ProVision™ to run four tests (throughput, loss, latency and jitter) in parallel to more rapidly and accurately test circuits.  This four-test ProVision test package also allows technicians to capture trending results on all four measurements for up to 24 hours, providing technicians with an easy means of identifying intermittent problems.
