Flextronics launches new SIP network server

BOSTON: Flextronics Software Systems, an end-to-end communication solutions provider, today announced the launch of its next-generation SIP Network Server (NS).

FSS' SIP Network Server is a high-performance and highly scalable core infrastructure server that enables TSPs to roll out innovative and best of breed revenue generating services, the company said in a statement.

The product is being showcased at the IP event, VON Fall 2005 here.

SIP is rapidly gaining popularity with service providers focused on offering their customers innovative, new IP-based services. FSS' SIP NS enables TSPs to roll out vendor-independent solutions, and deploy innovative services such as prepaid, video, P2P and Centrex (hosted telephony).

Apart from enabling easy deployment of value-added services, FSS' SIP NS
also acts as a core infrastructure router by providing transaction-stateful proxy, registrar and location server functionality.

It can be used as a high performance access VoIP Server which TSPs can
deploy as an adjunct to a softswitch to handle subscriber traffic thereby
reducing softswitch capacity requirements and the total switching
infrastructure cost.

Elaborating on the launch of SIP Network Server, Ajay Gupta, assistant
vice president & head of products, Flextronics, said, "As voice services are increasingly getting commoditized and competitive pressures further eroding the margins, TSP's ability to constantly introduce new innovative services has become an imperative for success. FSS' SIP NS offers numerous solution options that can be deployed for increasing TSP's ARPU".
