BANGALORE: The financial software solution company, i-flex solutions, has
been ranked among the top two companies in the All India Award for Excellence in
Exports in the non-SSI computer software and services category, 1999-2000. It
had also received the Sectoral Award as a non-SSI computer software and services
company for the year 1998-99, by the Electronics and Computer Software Export
Promotion Council (ESC).
Both awards are part of the ESC’s recognition program for outstanding
Indian companies. ESC is an autonomous organization under the ministry of
Information Technology, government of India. The company's CEO for Indian
operations, Deepak Ghaisas, said, "The ESC awards recognize our commitment
to build a truly global company by establishing the product building and
marketing capabilities of Indian software companies."
The selection criterion for the Sectoral Award-non-SSI computer and software
services, is a minimum export value of Rs 25 crore and a minimum average growth
rate of 40 per cent over the last three years. The award for excellence in non-SSI
computer software and services category is given to exporters who fulfill any
one of the following conditions --consistent growth rates in the preceding three
years, development of new markets or establishing an Indian brand in foreign
markets. i-flex met all the three criteria for the award.
The ESC awards closely follow i-flex’s recent Award for Excellence in
Electronics 1999-2000 in the computer software category given by the ministry of
Information Technology. The Export Awards have been instituted by the ESC
primarily to encourage outstanding companies who have taken initiatives in
developing export of products and services in the electronics and computer
software sector.
