i-flex certified as per SAS 70 standards

BANGALORE: i-flex solutions have recently completed a successful SAS 70 audit, making it

the first Indian software company to be certified so. The SAS 70 Audit is based on a globally accepted auditing standard, developed and maintained by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Consulting giant Ernst and Young was the independent service auditor who conducted this audit at i-flex development centers in India and the report was issued by the Atlanta office of Ernst and Young USA.

Ernst and Young, Partner, Sunil Chandiramani, said, "i-flex has successfully completed a SAS 70 Type II report without any exceptions. SAS 70 report will provide the necessary comfort to the customers of i-flex who rely on the internal processes of i-flex for their business success. i-flex through this now not only has designed these controls but these have also been tested for the effectiveness."

This successful SAS 70 review represents an independent assessment and endorsement of the adequacy and effectiveness of controls in i-flex's software development, maintenance and support processes. The functional scope of the review, apart from covering the entire gamut of processes related to software development and maintenance, also included areas such as physical and logical access control to development environments, customer confidentiality and backup of software.

The SAS 70 review covered i-flex's development centers in Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai and Pune. The audit also addresses an increasingly important expectation that financial institutions, especially in the US, have from their technology vendors.
