The contract has a ceiling value of $150 million and a period of performance of five years. ID's work, as explained in the announcement, will enable the DoC to improve customer service and increase efficiency by centralizing its purchasing efforts, reducing funds spent on network equipment and maintenance, minimizing its supply chain risk, and enabling future technological, process and acquisition efficiencies.

Under the terms of the DoC contract, ID will be responsible for sourcing and maintaining high quality network equipment for all 12 of DoC's distinct operating units, as well as training personnel in the equipment's use.

"ID is committed to using its ingenuity and extensive supplier relationships to provide federal agencies with the best technology solutions and services for their needs," said Harry Martin, ID president and chief executive officer. "ID has a long history of supporting government agencies' missions by providing innovative IT solutions. We look forward to continuing this tradition as we support the Department of Commerce's efforts to reduce costs and increase collaboration by providing standardized, cutting-edge networking equipment."
