First looks: VSTS and VS 2005

NEW DELHI: Attendees of Microsoft's annual event for developers and IT professionals got first glimpse of Visual Studio Team System, its first extensible life-cycle tools platform created for the developer community, and Visual Studio 2005, the latest edition of Microsoft's developer tools offering.

Interactive sessions on Visual Studio Team System, Visual studio 2005, SQL Server 2005 and Microsoft's messaging platforms etc. followed by hands on training and guidance on application development, deployment and management kept the developers interest on the high.

Visual Studio Team System (VSTS) is part of the new Microsoft Solutions System, which features improved support for distributed, team-oriented enterprise application development and helps development teams deliver service-oriented solutions. Visual Studio Team System provides tools to support the entire development team - architects, developers, testers and project managers. Visual Studio 2005 is a complete set of development tools for building web applications, web services, desktop applications, and mobile applications. The product will also provide an enhanced environment for targeting Windows based mobile devices such as Smartphone and Pocket PC.
