First IoT-Ideathon kicks off in Bangalore

BANGALORE, INDIA: The First IoT-Ideathon kicked off in Bangalore as the forerunner to the International Conference on VLSI Design and Embedded System.

Over a 100 participants working on 25 distinct themes will be battling it out for the next 60 hours to create the most innovative IoT products for India and the world.

The IoT-Ideathon was inaugurated by Mohandas Pai, chairman Manipal Global Education, who while emphasising on the importance of innovation in India, touched upon the vital role that IoT applications like Air Quality Measurement and Analysis can play in our lives, on a daily basis.

The entries will be judged by an eminent panel of judges consisting of:

* Srikanth Sundarajan, Venture Partner, Helion Venture Partners.

* Ashwani Garg, Director, Marketing Enabling Solutions, Intel India.

* Rohit Rathi, Co-founder, Notion Inc.

* Sree Kumar, Software Architect, Innominds.

* Guhesh Ramanathan Co-founder Excubator.

Key criteria for evaluation of the entries:

* Innovation

* Robust engineering

* Significance of the product

* Teamwork.

The results of IoT-Ideathon will be announced during the awards ceremony of the VLSI Design & Embedded Systems Conference, 2015 on the evening of Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the Leela Palace Hotel.
