Firms to buy 10 mn tablets in 2011: Deloitte

HELSINKI, FINLAND: Companies will buy more than 10 million tablet computers this year, business consultancy Deloitte said on Tuesday.

Deloitte said traditional PCs will still be the workhorse computing platform given that non-PC computers are expected to represent only about 25 percent of all computing devices at the end of 2011.

Research firm Gartner has forecast global market for tablet computers, created by Apple's iPad, to rise to 55 million devices this year from 19.5 million in 2010.
