Fingerprint Cards enters China for banking, govt projects

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN: Fingerprint Cards AB has received an order worth SEK 24 M from its distributor in China and Taiwan, Hardware & Software Technologies Co. Ltd. The order encompasses the FPC1011F3 area (touch) sensor. Delivery of the order is scheduled for Q4 2013 and the first half of 2014.

As an announcement adds, this order is a result of the strong demand for FPC's solutions in China, both for banking applications and new government-related projects.

"This order confirms our strong market leading position in the Chinese market for capacitive area sensors, where FPC has a market share exceeding 80 per cent," says Johan Carlström, President and CEO of Fingerprint Cards AB.

Fingerprint Cards AB (FPC) markets, develops and produces biometric components and technologies that through the analysis and matching of an individual's unique fingerprint verify the person's identity. The technology consists of biometric sensors, processors, algorithms and modules that can be used separately or in combination with each other. The company's technology as it adds, can also be used in IT and Internet security, access control, etc.
