FarmVille is a farming simulation game, where users plant, grow, and harvest virtual crops along with raising livestock. It is developed by the company Zynga, who is no stranger to the AppStore, with over 40 applications including Mafia Wars and Live Poker.

Speculation about this bubbled up when Blog Supererogatory discovered that the domain names farmvilleandroid.com, farmvilleipad.com, farmvilleiphone.com and farmvillesms.com were registered with DNStination Inc. DNStination is the third party that also holds farmville.com.

“Zynga plans to expand to various mobile platforms,” Mashable.com quoted a Zynga spokesperson as saying.

It will be interesting to see if the game has full functionality when played on mobile devices or if limited gameplay will be required; however, one thing is for sure, with 80 million users, Farmville will probably break records for the number of downloads on many mobile platforms when it’s released.

Do you think Farmville will be a big of a hit among iPad and iPhone users as it is on Facebook?
