NEW DELHI: Paharpur Business Center and Software Technology Incubator Park (PBC-STIP) is setting up a Technology Park in Faridabad.

The Haryana Technology Park (HTP) is situated in a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) approved by the Government of India. Firms located at HTP will have tax exemptions relating to income tax, custom duty, service tax and VAT.

PBC-STIP CEO Kamal Meattle said, “To be built with an investment of around Rs 300 crore, the HTP is an approved sector-specific SEZ for IT / ITES companies and will be the first integrated IT Park in the NCR. It will have a built up area of 1.65 million sq. ft. and is expected to be ready for occupation by July 2008. Bookings for rentals will be open from March 2006.”

The proposed SEZ-IT park site is three km away from Delhi — Badarpur Border on National Highway 2. The government has also cleared the 2.5 km long elevated expressway over the border whose construction is slated to begin in next 30-60 days. The expressway is expected to further improve connectivity.

The HTP will be US Green Building Council “LEED” certified Platinum rated 'Green Building'. Some of the facilities provided in the Park include conference/video conferencing facilities, residential quarters, recreation and sports center, banks and ATMs and parking for more than 1,650 vehicles, among other things.
