Famed security experts Charlie Miller and Chris Valasek are joining General Motor's self-driving car company, Cruise. They are famous for remotely hacking a Jeep Grand Cherokee in 2015.
Miller and Valasek are reuniting at the autonomous driving start up Cruise after both independently left ride hailing firm Uber in recent months. The two had separated for a brief period when Miller left Uber to join its rival Didi's self-driving lab in California.
Valasek announced his decision to join Cruise via posts on Twitter and Facebook.
Miller acknowledged that he, too, had joined the company via Twitter.
Uber has confirmed the departure of Valasek in a statement saying "We thank Chris for his contributions to Uber and wish him all the best in his next endeavor.”
Both Miller and Valasek would be heading Cruise's security team.
