Facebook’s love for Snapchat seems to have crossed limits of human comprehension and understanding. Zuckerberg’s team appears so much captivated by their rival that every new feature and update from the house has Snapchat imprints.

Facebook has debuted another standalone product Flash- an ephemeral picture and video messaging app, needless to say, copied from Snapchat.

Facebook claims Flash is less than 25 MB in size and roughly half in size as compared to its own official Android app. In comparison to Snapchat’s Android app, it’s about third the size (70 MB).

Noticeably, instead of targeting the popular millennial crowd this time, Facebook is launching Flash in developing countries where internet & WiFi connectivity is limited.

After all the copying acts, Facebook recently also tried to acquire the Asian-clone of Snapchat, i.e Snow. However, the company failed yet again. With Flash, Facebook is basically just trying to capture the places where Snapchat is yet to reach out, like Brazil.

According to the Recode report, Facebook has launched the app first in Brazil on Android and plans to roll it out to other markets (Indonesia, India) in the coming months.

Notably, this is not Facebook's first attempt to launch a stand-alone app. In the past, Facebook launched Poke and Slingshot but failed to see success.
