SEATTLE, USA: Application Delivery Networking provider F5 Networks, Inc said on Thursday that its ARX file virtualization solution has been named a ‘2008 Green IT Product’ by the China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID), the country’s foremost government-linked IT authority.
The award was granted at the recently held China Network Management Convention, jointly hosted by CCID, China Computer Users Association (CCUA), and the China Green IT Promotion Alliance (CGIPA), said a press release.
“We are very honored to accept this prestigious award for our cutting-edge file virtualization platform,” said Francis Zhang, Managing Director at F5 China. “F5’s ARX file virtualization solution is a proven technology that lessens the environmental impact of corporate data centers.”
He said the system allows enterprises to virtualize or ‘pool’ their existing file storage resources, resulting in dramatically improved storage capacity utilization. This translates into reduced power consumption and substantial storage management cost-savings for organizations.
Meanwhile, F5 Networks also announced that it has been positioned in the Leaders quadrant of Gartner, Inc.’s Magic Quadrant for SSL VPN, North America, published in December 2008.
