Patrik Sallner, Vice President of F-Secure's Mobile Business Unit, said, "F-Secure has been protecting mobile devices for a full decade and we are proud to introduce our first products for the fast-growing Android platform. Our Anti-Theft for Mobile adds a valuable level of extra security for smartphone users and can also be easily upgraded to include more security features, including Browsing Protection."

Today's smartphones often contain a wealth of confidential information, including banking details, business projects and personal e-mails and photos. F-Secure's Anti-Theft for Mobile protects confidential data and safeguards privacy in the unfortunate event that the smartphone is lost or stolen. The product was already introduced for the Symbian and Windows platforms in early January 2010.

F-Secure Anti-Theft for Mobile includes remote lock, theft control and remote wipe functionalities. The remote lock can be used to lock the device easily with a single SMS message. The theft control feature activates when the SIM card is changed by locking the phone and sends the new SIM information to the owner. As an ultimate safety measure to prevent misuse, it is possible to erase all the data on the phone with remote wipe by sending an SMS message.
