BANGALORE: EximSoft Technologies, the Bangalore-based software company, has
made significant strides in Japan with its applications for Web-based workflow
and mobile phones, in collaboration with Toshiba Engineering Company (TEC) and
Apas Inc., of Tokyo, Japan, respectively. TEC, which was introduced to Web-based
workflow application, Ultimus, through a pilot project by EximSoft, now plans to
actively provide these solutions in Japan, using the services of EximSoft.
With Apas, EximSoft is working on a mobile phone application to provide
location-based services. Apas will soon introduce these services to other
countries in Asia and Europe. By using this service, a user can get the desired
map on the mobile phone. These maps are retrieved from stored databases as
components and reconstructed on the fly before being displayed on the phone.
Future versions of this application will also display the nearest railway
station, post office, bank and restaurants, and instructions on how to reach
these places from your current location. Also, given any phone number, the
system can get the address from the phone directory and from the address
construct the map of the place.
Speaking on the application, EximSoft managing director V Ramakrishna said,
"The use of such an application is quite limitless. Currently, EximSoft is
supporting Apas’ requirements for Japan. In future, EximSoft intends to
support Apas’ global requirements from India." Apas is also exploring the
possibility of providing this service to mobile phone companies in India. In
addition, EximSoft is working with companies like Citibank and a large
multinational which figures among the top three IT companies in Japan.
